Greenpop – Trees for Zambia Conference – July 2013

Greenpop is a social enterprise that believes greening and sustainable living can be fun, POPular and accessible for all. We believe in inspiring a greener, more conscious, inclusive movement and do this through tree planting projects, green events, education, social media, voluntourism and activating people to start DOING!

Trees for Zambia is a Conference of Action that runs from 7th to 28th July 2013 in the beautiful Livingstone (home of the Victoria Falls) and will see people planting over 5000 trees, making solar cookers, attending educational workshops on climate related issues and having a LOT of fun. Zambia has one of the highest deforestation rates in the world and we want to make a start at changing this!

Volunteers will be a vital part of this project. They will help us plant the trees and educate children at local schools about environmental conservation. On top of that, people who come will have the opportunity to learn about issues such as deforestation, climate change, and sustainability through workshops and lectures given by notable speakers. The project will be an exciting conference of action, sharing, and learning. Take a look at the video of last year’s Trees for Zambia Action Event here:

We also have a cool campaign called Trees for Fees where people can raise funds for trees and get their event ticket discounted or FREE! Raise 80 trees and get 1 week free, 150 trees = 2 weeks and 200 trees = 3 weeks. Check it out here:
