Today’s product review is Vida Organica 2010 Malbec from Argentina. My father recommended this wine after my brother introduced him to it (a family favorite). Available at Whole Foods (on special for $8.99) this wine was the hit of the party I went to the other night.
Being new in town I wanted to make a good impression when I was invited to a gathering. I knew the hostesses grew a lot of their own produce and were environmentally conscious. So I figured I couldn’t go wrong with this bottle. This malbec is made with organic grapes, meaning there are no pesticides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers. The vineyard is irrigated with pure mountain water. The operation goes back three generations and is a family owned business that believes in sustainable farming.
This is a great light wine perfect for holiday dinners that feature white meats like turkey or fish. If you don’t like white, but enjoy dark berries and plum flavors, this is a perfect, inexpensive bottle to try.
